A new play by Lesley BiltonDirected by Siobhán Hill ElamTuesday 24th – Wednesday 25th May 2011 at 8pm in the Auditorium2011 One-act play festival entry Why should so many of Britain’s best-loved childrens’ authors have such a poor relationship with their own offspring? Surely if they can reach the hearts of generations of youth they should at least be able to communicate with their own child? Lost follows the fates of the three boys who achieved immortality as Peter Pan, Toad of Toad Hall and Christopher Robin. The first two died in suspicious circumstances, generally believed to be suicide, before they reached 21 and Christopher Robin was estranged from his parents for all his adult life. Why? In this swift-paced one-act play which attempts to answer the question, nine actors portray fifteen characters and the action swings between 1904 and 1970. Pirate braves, assorted stoats, badgers and weasels, irate directors and Charleston dancing flappers all add diversity and humour to this essentially tragic story. It is written by Lesley Bilton, the author of Sherlock Holmes and the Lure of the Reichenbach which won 14 awards for the Barn in the 2003 one act play festival, and is directed by Siobhan Hill Elam. Come and support us at the Barn for performances on Tuesday and Wednesday 24th and 25th May. TicketsTickets are on sale now for just £5.
