Archives - The Prisoner of Second Avenue

by Neil Simon

Directed by Margaret Hakansson

Saturday 15th – Saturday 22nd September 1984 in the Auditorium

Mel and Edna Edison live on the fourteenth floor of an apartment block on Second Avenue on the East side of New York. Next door live two German air hostesses with a rather busy night life. The people on the floor above are aggressive and rather less than neighbourly. Mel suffers one body blow after another including a robbery which leaves him with nothing but a pair of pants, a golf hat and his tooth brush.

The play walks a tight rope between tension and laughter but being a “Neil Simon” the laughter always wins.
