Archives - Humble Boy

by Charlotte Jones

Directed by Yvana Reeves

Friday 25th February – Saturday 5th March 2005 in the Auditorium

A comedy that touches and amuses while leaving you reflecting on the nature of failed hopes, broken vows and the special ingredients of gazpacho soup.

Set in a Middle England country garden where Felix Humble, once the golden boy of his family, now Cambridge astrophysicist, returns to attend his father’s funeral. Instead of a grieving mother he finds her considering the proposal of an aspiring suitor. Something odd is happening as past decisions and new revelations combine to create dilemmas for families closely linked in the past but maybe not in the future.

Sad, very sad; funny, very funny... this is a seriously wonderful play
