Archives - A Little Hotel On The Side

by Georges Feydeau and Maurice Désvallières
Translated by John Mortimer

Directed by Keith Thompson

Saturday 4th – Saturday 11th January 1992 in the Auditorium

This witty, ribald and stylish translation remains true to the Feydeau spirit of backfiring, naughty wordplay. It contains the classic ingredients — thwarted lust, spiralling panic and a seedy hotel where the corridors see more action than the beds.

Pinglet takes his best friend’s wife to a dubious hotel. Far from a quiet evening of love, they encounter half of Paris, including most of their relatives and the Inspector of Public Morality!

Part of the Barn’s 1991/1992 season
